"The school is a very
special place, and the commitment and professionalism of the staff is
outstanding."
One parent's comment on
our school during the lastest inspection.
OFSTED were very impressed
by what they saw when they came to visit. Amongst many other things
(which you can read about if you see the full report from the link
above) they commented on the following.
-
Pupils make
outstanding progress and attain standards that are exceptionally
high.'
-
'Relationships between
staff and pupils are excellent.'
-
Pupils make 'outstanding personal development',
and are
'exceptionally well motivated'.
-
The school was praised
for its
'rich curriculum'
and for the way it includes a
'wide range of after-school clubs and
educational trips to extend learning.'
-
The headteacher
'provides excellent leadership'
and is supported by staff who 'form a
close-knit team who share ideas and spread good practice across the
school.'
-
The inspection team
also praised the
'outstanding support, care and guidance to help pupils to feel safe
and secure in school' and 'academic guidance for pupils is well
developed.' In addition,
'pupils who find learning difficult are given
very good support, often by highly skilled teaching assistants, so
that they also make outstanding progress.'
-
They also considered
our governors to be
' very effective' and the super
relationship we enjoy with our parents. They felt that
'parents particularly appreciate how
approachable staff are and how readily they can share any concerns
with teachers or teachers assistants. They also appreciate the
attention paid to each individual'.
All in all, we are
naturally very proud of what we have achieved, but we always keep to the
forefront of our minds that this success, and the success we intend to
enjoy in the future, will always come down to nurturing that crucial
relationship - that between teacher, the parent and the child.
It's a team effort!
