Moving on . . .

Where do Mellis children go after Year 6?

When they finish year six, most Mellis pupils head two miles up the road to continue their education at Hartismere High School in Eye.

You can find out more about this very highly rated high school by visitingwww.hartismere.co.uk

Mellis Pupils also go to other local schools, such as Debenham High School.  Wymondham College or  Ipswich School.

Preparing for high school...

We understand that moving up to high school is a big moment in most children’s lives. You can probably still remember the day you ‘went up’. We are keen to make the transition as easy as possible for our children so we have forged really close links with the high school and the other primary schools in the catchment area. In joining with these other primary schools for a variety of events and activities right from the Reception, children can start to build friendships that will take them through into high school.

Year six pupils visit Hartismere School on a regular basis for 'taster days' and sports events. They also go on the now legendary residential week to the North Norfolk coast with pupils from the other 'pyramid' primary schools. This helps them to continue to develop their individual independence and make new friends that they will likely be with at high school.
