Year 2 is the final step of Key Stage One before children prepare for the transition into Key Stage 2.  Therefore independence is the key feature of teaching and learning. With great encouragement, children are taught to be independent thinkers and learners, and begin take responsibility for not only progressing their learning but also to develop their social and emotial skills.
